  1. What I really like about this film is how authentic it feels. Most period films either look like they were filmed in a set, or filmed in a museum. I also love how many of the captures could easily pass as imitations of some of the paintings from the period (Gainsborough comes to mind). I’d say that my favorite of the set is the one of when Barry has hit rock bottom (frame 57). This film really has a perfectionist’s touch. The only other director I can think of who recreates such a mood is Luchino Visconti, who also made some beautiful films.
